Summer Hikes

Tony and I always try to get some hikes in during the summer. We never do as many as we think we will but we still have time!

These are our pictures from our hike to Battle Creek Falls. We go on this hike at least twice a year. It is short and fun! June always has a good time hiking. I would too if I was being carried!

 At the top
June and dad having a great time!
Towards the beginning of the summer I took June, Adam, and Emily on the "hike" to bridal veil falls. Adam and Emily had fun playing in the river and June thought she wanted to get in until she realized how cold it was.

After the hike I had to stop at the bank so they all enjoyed suckers in the car. June ALWAYS has a good time with Adam and Emily!

Tony June and I also went on the Silver Lake hike up American Fork Canyon. The drive was HORRIFIC in our Camry. I honestly thought we were going to break down. To say the road was rocky would be an understatement. This was one of our motivations to buy the 4 runner we now have! Once we got to the trail head we had a great time! It was such a pretty hike.

This is the end of the hike, Silver Lake. It was a difficult hike for me and I wasn't even carrying June! It was nice to rest at the top.
June enjoyed being out of the carrier and eating dirt when we got to Silver Lake.

Memorial Day

On memorial day weekend we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Swensen's grave. I sure do miss them but I am so happy to know where they are. This picture of June below is probably one of my favorite pictures! My grandma LOVED June so much and I just think this picture is so sweet.

Four years already?

May 10th was our 4 year anniversary! I can not believe how much time flies. Here is a little recap of what has happened in our lives in 4 years....
  • School, school school
  • Tony earns a bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Jamie earns a bachelor's degree in nursing
  • 3 trips to Zion national park
  • 4 trips to Washington
  • Who knows how many trips to Montana
  • 1 trip to California
  • lived in 3 places (apt in Provo, Grandmas house, apt in Orem)
  • One sweet angel daughter June was born
  • And many many more wonderful experiences to come!
I can honestly say that I am the luckiest girl to have found Tony. He is such a genuinely good person and a GREAT husband and father. I am looking forward to many many more years with him! And eternity!

For our anniversary my mom watched June for the night so we could stay in Salt Lake City. We stayed at the Radisson and had a great view of the city! We walked around the new City Center and got some cheesecake from the cheesecake factory. The wait was too long to eat there so we ate at the Blue Iguana. It was delicious! They had a cute little couple that went around and sang. After dinner we dropped some stuff off at the hotel and walked to the gateway to see the Hunger Games! We had a great time!

Goodbye Tercie

In May we said goodbye to our little Tercel. I did not expect to be so sad to get rid of it! This car was such a blessing to us. It would NOT stop running. No matter how bad it sounded:) This is the car that took us on our first date and drove us to the airport for our honeymoon. It was my first stick shift (which I hated learning) and was our dependable car for our first four years of marriage. We were blessed to have it and hate to see it go!

UVU Grad!!

April has been a busy month for us. June turned one, and Tony and I both graduated!! I graduated on Friday April 27th from UVU with a Bachelors of Science degree in nursing. I can't believe I am all done! I have been working as an RN for a year at the American Fork Hospital on the mom/baby unit and also working to get my bachelors in nursing. It is going to be nice to just work part time and be with June. I am so grateful for the experience that I had at UVU and for the support from my family. I could not have done it without them (Tony & mom). Yay for graduation!

Tony and I in our beautiful graduation robes

I also could not have done it without my friends in the nursing program. They told me where to be and when!

Hogle Zoo and day at the park

Tony's parents came to Utah for his graduation. While they were here we went to the Zoo and had fun at the park! June LOVES animals so she loved the Zoo as we suspected we would. She screamed and banged on the glass when she saw the monkeys and enjoyed seeing anything that looked like a cat. We were happy that we got to go with Brian, Dave, Tony's parents, my mom, Kim, Adam and Emily. We had a great time!

 The Monkeys

I do not know what this thing was but she could have chased him back and forth all day!

 The Tiger

Here are some pictures of the park. The tulips were amazing!!
